Reseña del Primer Encuentro Latinoamericano de Dramaterapia:
Construyendo Saberes Dramaterapéuticos desde el Territorio, las Comunidades y la Diversidad Cultural
Temuco Chile, Septiembre 21-23, 2018
El grito inicial lanzado en el Primer Encuentro Latinoamericano de Dramaterapia fue un potente activador que permitió revelar lo que se ha estado gestando en Latinoamérica en Dramaterapia en los últimos años, dándole también espacio a las profundas raíces de los saberes autóctonos. Fue un gran grito: cálido y enriquecedor, emotivo y conmovedor, que logró llenar tanto los corazones como las mentes de los presentes. El grito salió desde Temuco, ciudad del sur de Chile, cuyo nombre en mapudungún significa "agua de Temu" (un árbol de la región), desafiando así la negligencia de la periferia y resaltando la idea de que el centro está en todas partes.
Contando con la participación de gente de Argentina, Brasil, Colombia, Chile, Estados Unidos, Inglaterra e Israel y con ponencias digitales enviadas desde México y España, el Encuentro fue verdaderamente eso: un Gran Encuentro (o más bien, un hallazgo). A través de las presentaciones, ponencias y talleres, se puso de manifiesto la necesidad de compartir las experiencias realizadas y el valiosísimo conocimiento adquirido en torno al uso de rituales, técnicas teatrales y de dramaterapia enfocadas a la salud mental, la educación, y al campo social en el contexto Latinoamericano. Surgieron conexiones, se tejieron redes, se intercambiaron experiencias, ideas, ejercicios y abrazos… ¡Fue maravilloso y mágico!
Cabe agradecer la invaluable labor del comité organizador compuesto por Carolina Osses, Esmérita Huiliñir, Olga Angélica Vásquez Palma y Dina Guarda Cerón, así como también a la Universidad Católica de Temuco, cuya sede dio albergue al Encuentro. Así mismo, al comité de logística y prensa, que apoyó solidariamente desde Mendoza la difusión del evento y la creación de la página web (Sol Guerrero, Gustavo Álvarez Rivero y Patricia Sosa). Agradecemos también la inestimable colaboración de Idalid Diaz y Jessica Bleuer del grupo de dramaterapeutas hispanohablantes de NADTA (la Asociación Norteamericana de Dramaterapia), por facilitar la conexión entre los colegas del norte y el sur del continente, al Dramatherapy Fund, en especial a Carlos Rodriguez y a Sally Bailey por apoyar la filmación del Encuentro, y a comité académico, que llevó a cabo la evaluación de las propuestas.
El próximo Encuentro se realizará en la ciudad de Mendoza, Argentina, en Sept. 2020, sobre el eje de “Dramaterpia en el Teatro, la Neurociencia y la Educación.

The initial grito (cry) launched at the First Latin American Encounter of Drama Therapy was a powerful activator that revealed what has been gestating in Latin America in connection with Drama Therapy in recent years, while giving space as well to the deep roots of indigenous knowledge. It was a great grito: warm and enriching, emotive and touching, filling both the hearts and the minds of those present. The grito came from Temuco, a city in southern Chile, whose name in mapudungún means "water from Temu" (a regional tree), thus challenging the negligence of the periphery and highlighting the idea that the center is everywhere.
Counting with the participation of people from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, United States, England and Israel and with digital presentations sent from Mexico and Spain, the Encounter was truly that: a Great Encounter (or rather, a discovery). Through the presentations, lectures and workshops, it became clear that there was a need to share the experiences made and the invaluable knowledge acquired around the use of rituals, theatrical techniques and drama therapy focusing on mental health, education, and the social fields in the Latin American context. Connections emerged, networks were woven, experiences, ideas, exercises and hugs were exchanged... It was wonderful and magical!
We are grateful for the invaluable work of the organizing committee composed of Carolina Osses, Esmérita Huiliñir, Olga Angélica Vásquez Palma and Dina Guarda Cerón, as well as with the Universidad Católica de Temuco that hosted the meeting. Likewise, we want to thank the logistics and press committee for its solidarity and support with the promotion of the event and the creation of the website (Sol Guerrero, Gustavo Álvarez Rivero and Patricia Sosa). We are also grateful for the invaluable collaboration of Idalid Diaz and Jessica Bleuer from the group of Spanishspeaking drama therapists of NADTA (The North American Drama Therapy Association), for facilitating the connection between colleagues from the north and south of the continent, to the Dramatherapy Fund (especially to Carlos Rodriguez and Sally Bailey) for supporting the filming of the Encounter), and to the academic committee, which carried out the evaluation of the proposals.
The next Meeting will be held in the city of Mendoza, Argentina, in Sept. 2020, focusing on "Dramatherapy in Theatre, Neuroscience and Education."
